NIACOG – TRANSIT FACILITY & REGIONAL OFFICES
Mason City, IA
This building facilitates three entities – North Iowa Area Council of Governments (NIACOG), Region 2 Transit, and City of Mason City Transit. The building is comprised of offices, training room, conference room, bus maintenance, bus wash bay, bus storage, and accessory spaces. The project incorporated many sustainable/green design concepts, including a geothermal HVAC system, day-lighting strategies, and recycled material. With the new facility, NIACOG expanded their services. Subsequently, ATURA also provided architectural services for the two expansion projects to the building.

As a governmental entity with concerns of meeting budget constraints and federal requirements, (ATURAs) depth of knowledge and experience working in this environment was exceptional. The design, attention to detail, and ability to present solutions within the spirit of the project’s overall design and budget was superb. (ATURA) has our highest recommendation.
