Ground Breaking

On May 16, 2019, ATURA Architecture along with Dean Snyder Construction, broke ground on the new Raccoon River Pet Rescue facility in Perry, Iowa! We’re honored to be part of such a great project!

Currently under construction is a new 6,280 sq. ft. pet shelter for the newly branded Raccoon River Pet Shelter. This private organization needed to move out of the 300 square foot “shed” to a new facility that can support the animal rescue & control needs for all of Dallas County. Complete with a state of the art HVAC system to ensure a welcoming and odor free environment for years to come. The facility will have 13 kennels, 40 cat condos, a meet and greet multi-purpose room, grooming and operation rooms, isolation rooms for cats and dogs, secured entry and drop off for law enforcement, office space, and adequate storage. Cat rooms will be fitted with large aluminum clad windows to allow a lot of natural light and capitalize on visual stimuli outside. Dog kennels will have a guillotine style door to allow easy access outside into the large dog runs. Individual drains to each kennel to allow for easy cleaning and mitigate the risk of diseases spreading from dog to dog. The site, donated by the owner, will have adequate space for expansion or added play areas in the future. Construction is scheduled to be completed in Late 2019.
